I’m originally from a small town in Indiana, and in 2013, I found CrossFit. Without a doubt, this discovery changed my life. Through CrossFit, I started experimenting with Nutrition. I adopted a Paleo-type diet and fell in love with everything about real food, health, wellness, and Nutrition …so much so, that I decided to quit my 9-5 marketing job and move across the country to Portland to pursue a Master’s degree in Nutrition. In 2016, I graduated from the National University of Natural Medicine with my Master’s degree in Nutrition. Since then, I have worked with people 1-on-1 and in a group, settings to share my love for whole foods and my belief in the power of Nutrition to elevate and enhance your life.
Some of my experiences include being the Site Editor and Nutritionist for Ultimate Paleo Guide and Paleo Meal Plans. But - full disclosure (because I’m sure some of you are wondering) - I no longer eat a strict Paleo diet! I don’t view Nutrition as a one-size-fits-all approach, and I love working closely with people to discover what foods make them feel their best!
I'm a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer, and I love watching people push their boundaries and get to know themselves better through the sport. While I still do CrossFit almost daily, I train most seriously in Olympic Weightlifting with hopes of competing on the national level within the next year.
A few fun facts about me: one of my favorite foods is a cherry tomato picked right off the vine. My favorite benchmark workout is Isabel. One of my favorite feelings is a perfectly-executed snatch, and my least favorite piece of equipment in the gym is the Assault Bike. I hate that thing.
I genuinely believe Nutrition is the key to your success in the gym - and, most importantly, outside of it. As I said, I’m excited to get to know you all and share my love for food and Nutrition with you!
