Meet the Coaches

  • ASHLEY YATES

    Owner & Coach

    Certification & Experience: CrossFit Level 1, Burgener Strength Level 1, USA Weightlifting Level 2, Bachelor of Science in Physical Education, Minor in Exercise Science, NASM Certified Personal Trainer, First Aid & CPR

    Ashley grew up in Eugene, Oregon where she played basketball at a high level. When she moved to Portland, her love for competition drew her to CrossFit. She was first a member at Rose City Barbell, then became a coach, and is now the owner. She’s passionate about challenging athletes to achieve more and building strong communities around fitness. She lives in Lake Oswego with her husband, Cam, and their three kids, Halle, Rowan, and Kinley. They also have a dog named, Brother, who visits the gym every now and then.

  • MIKE JAQUITH

    Coach

    Cerfitication & Experience: CrossFit Level 1, Burgener Strength Level 1, USA Weightlifting Level 1, CrossFit Spot The Flaw, 10+ Years of CrossFit Experience

    Mike is an Oregon native, born right here in Beaverton. As a kid, he grew up playing soccer and later in life, he found CrossFit. He enjoys the competitive nature and specific programming that helps build wholistic strength. Mike is currently an Operations Manager at Brightstar Home Health. Outside of work he enjoys family time, golf, and watching The Office.

  • ALEX BARENE

    Coach

    Certification & Experience: Masters in Science, Sport and Performance Psychology. CrossFit Level 1, Burgener Strength Level 1

    Originally from the small town of Aberdeen Washington, Alex moved to Oregon to play soccer at George Fox University. He then continued his education at University of Western States where he completed his Masters Degree in Sport and Performance Psychology. With a lifelong passion surrounding all aspects of fitness, Alex tried his first CrossFit class thanks to his father. And after his collegiate career ended, CrossFit not only became a great competitive outlet for him, but also an opportunity to combine his passion with a career. He loves to help athletes of all ages, sports, and competitive levels improve their mental game.
